SPECIALTY SURFACTANTS – ALKYL GLYCIDYL ETHER (AGE) AND ALKYL GLYCERYL SULFONATE (AGS)
AGE, or Alkyl Glycidyl Ether, an ether and epoxide, is manufactured by reacting P&G Chemicals mid-cut alcohol with epichlorohydrin. It is produced at our Kansas City Plant (Kansas City, Kansas, USA). AGE is typically used in resins, epoxies, and as a base in many coating and painting applications. It is an effective paint thinner and paint remover.
AGS, or Alkyl Glyceryl Sulphonate, an ether, is manufactured as a 47.5% paste active that has excellent hard water tolerance. AGS is a mild surfactant that will not leave residue. It is produced exclusively at our Kansas City Plant (Kansas City, Kansas). AGS is typically used in personal care applications.
