P&G Chemicals: Partnering on Solutions to Drive Positive Impacts

The future’s not determined, the future is in our hands; what happens over the next centuries will be determined by how we play our cards this decade.” This quote, from Breaking Boundaries – The Science of Our Planet, resonates strongly with me. The film delves into the Earth’s nine planetary boundaries and their critical thresholds that, if crossed, could lead to significant environmental changes. Through scientific insights and visually compelling footage, the documentary underscores the urgent need for action to turn things around. We need to stay innovative, cooperate and make the next decade one that safeguards the future of our planet. The science is clear on what humanity needs to do. And given this, there’s never been a more exciting time for me to serve with Procter & Gamble (P&G).
Having spent the last five years in the environmental sustainability and responsible sourcing space, I experienced firsthand how P&G embedded these priorities in the way we do business across our operations, supply chain and brands. Collaboration is key to advancing progress on systemic sustainability challenges. Combined with a reputation for doing the right thing, this has helped us develop trust and unlock hearts, minds and solutions. Together we are stronger, more effective and more likely to achieve progress for today and maintain it for tomorrow.
One of the proudest moments in the last four years is when I witnessed a group of smallholders in our palm sustainability program receive their Roundtable on Sustainable Palm Oil (RSPO) certification in front of a packed audience. Our P&G Center for Sustainable Small-owners, an alliance in Johor, Malaysia, with the Asia School of Business and the Temasek Foundation, has elevated the livelihoods of palm farmers through increases of over 40% in their yield and 20% in their income.
More than 600 farmers in the CSS program have achieved RSPO certification, further enhancing their livelihoods, their families and communities, now and for generations to come. This is a great example of how we have partnered externally to deliver scalable solutions that drive positive impacts.
Earlier this month, I took on the responsibility of P&G Chemicals Eurasia Leader. My career with P&G has been focused primarily in purchasing, market strategy & planning, and sustainability. I am privileged to leverage this set of skills and experiences to lead our Eurasia business toward delivering sustainable oleochemical products to our customers and internally to P&G, while navigating the ever-changing and complex world we operate in.
From October 2024, I will also serve as Managing Director of FPG Oleochemicals, a world-scale joint venture that manufactures high-quality oleochemicals in Kuantan, Malaysia, from natural sources and recently celebrated its 30 year-anniversary.
From its humble beginnings and with partnership as an enduring focus, P&G Chemicals has gone from strength to strength with increased production volumes, sustained operational excellence and best-in-class process reliability. We continue to make investments in our network, including re-platforming our sites to enhance the reliability, efficiency, resiliency and sustainability of our operations.
At P&G Chemicals, we are proud to continue building upon the solid foundation established over 185 years of innovation and multifunctional expertise. We remain committed to delivering sustainable solutions and creating value for our customers and other stakeholders.
Thank you to everyone who is helping to make that happen! The future is NOW.
