Our oleochemicals are produced with materials sourced responsibly. As active members of RSPO we can supply RSPO certified palm derived oleochemicals to meet your needs.
All suppliers are expected to comply with our Forest Commodities Policy and Responsible Sourcing Expectations for External Business Partners. They must follow the same high standards (regardless of certification status) including compliance with the No Deforestation, No Development on Peat, No Exploitation (NDPE) requirements in our Forestry Policy. All direct suppliers must be members of the Roundtable on Sustainable Palm Oil (RSPO) and have the policies and procedures in place to comply with RSPO's Principles and Criteria.

P&G is an active member of the Roundtable on Sustainable Palm Oil (RSPO) .We engage on many working groups and standing committees and have a focus on programs which enable standards and development, smallholder inclusion and jurisdictional approaches. Our commitment to RSPO extends to expectations for our direct suppliers, who must be members of RSPO and comply with RSPO’s Principles and Criteria (P&Cs).

Conserve, Restore, Protect: Force for Good
Our Conserve-Restore-Protect program supports projects aimed at delivering positive impacts for people, communities and landscapes in palm producing regions of Malaysia and Indonesia. Our focus goes beyond simply our supply chains and seeks to either establish new or support existing community or NGO programs.
In 2015 we established the P&G Smallholder program in Johor, Malaysia with the aim of supporting smallholders in their journey to sustainably improving oil palm fruit yields and boosting livelihoods. In 2018, we established the P&G Center for Sustainable Small-owners (CSS) in partnership with Asia School of Business. Bringing together agronomists, researchers, supply chain experts and fertilizer experts (like our program partner Yara) it acts as a 1-stop shop resource center for smallholders.
Our program focusses on developing practical solutions working collaboratively with our smallholder partners. It includes 250 best-in-class learning farms; development of training tools and provision of best practice training to create smallholder experts. These community knowledge holders then act as ambassadors to their communities helping us reach our target of up to 8,000 farmers. We also offer the practical help needed to support their journey to RSPO smallholder certification giving them a voice in the wider palm industry.
Together in 2022 we saw our best practices deliver 48%+ yield and 39% income improvement at our learning farms. Our support and their commitment enabled our smallholders to establish Pertaniaga (a smallholder association) in 2021. This led to 306 smallholders achieving RSPO ISH certification (with the benefits of price premiums) in 2022 -- with 600+ more on track to achieve it in the near future.
P&G is a founding member of the RIMBA Collective. This 30-year program was established in 2020 by a group of companies* with a shared commitment to support long-term community and landscape programs in Indonesia and Malaysia. It aims to support local community and NGO-led programs designed to protect and restore 500,000 hectares of forest and support 32,000 people in forest communities.
In 2022, the first full year of operations, together the RIMBA Collective brought 73,000 hectares of forest conservation programs into the initiative. In 2023 RIMBA Collective aims to protect and restore 200,000 hectares of landscape.

On UN World Wildlife Day 2021, P&G announced a sponsorship partnership with WWF-Malaysia – supporting their work to protect endangered Malayan tigers and their forest homes in the Central Forest Spine of Peninsular Malaysia. Our support enables WWF-Malaysia to carry out their essential work including:

Regreening and planting of trees including creation of “Wildlife Corridors” joining pockets of intact forests - with over 3,764 trees planted in the Sungai Yu primary linkage as part of ongoing restoration

Ranger team patrols of over 31,250 hectares (an amazing 7,235 hectares on foot plus motorbike and boat) to protect tigers and other species from poaching in the Belum-Temenggor Forest Complex

Removal of 35 snares and acting as a deterrent to prevent poaching.

Conducting biodiversity research (including camera traps) and stakeholder and land mapping to help inform conservation strategy.

The Power of Partnership
At P&G Chemicals we take our commitments to drive sustainable choices within our supply chain seriously. But we also know that (as a relatively small user of palm oil) to achieve wider impacts we need to partner with other companies, NGOs, experts and local authorities. Our partnerships focus on:
